Audio Quality In Vegas

Hi,

I have been using Vegas 5 & 6 to encode AC3 for authorizing out DVD. I know that Vegas started out as an audio program, so sound should be its specialty for such stereo, surround sound, and other. However, I noticed that Vegas encoded AC3 DVD, when played with high-end stereo system, demonstrates much inferior than other independent encoding program.
Could this be just my case or the current quality of encoding plug-in program in Vegas?
 
if you mix in surround you have to know what you are doing. are you just taking a stereo track and converting to a surround? and expecting wounderful things it wont happen.

What independent encoding program are you comparing it with?
