Audio problem with DVX...

Ive had my dvx100a for a while now and have always had problems with the audio. My friend has a VX2000 and a lot of the time we shoot things at the same time. His footy always has much better audio. some cases you can hear full conversations with his and cant even hear noise with mine. i havent really played around with the audio functions but is there anything i can adjust so it picks up more sound? (besides getting an external mic)

Maybe your channels are turned down?

Solution: Turn them up.

Though I'm not sure if this is your problem or not.

Are your audio channels set to the INT mic setting and turned up high enough as LeSeulGiraffe suggested? Do you have headphones so that you can monitor audio while shooting?

Are you set for line-in but actually sending mic in? That is another common problem found with the DVX100.

i fixed it thanks! my chanels were turned at 50%. thats how they were when i got the camera and i assumed that the middle was the hightest not all the way to the right. using headphones helped figure that out. thanks all....
