Greetings....my university is purchasing a DVX100B for student and faculty use. Can you please suggest a low to moderately low priced audio package that we could purchase. I'm thinking a wireless system and a boom mic that could mount on a boom pole or the camera? Can you please suggest all the necessary parts of this package we would need?...thanks so much.

Look over these audio packages from Trew Audio for an idea of components to consider and to get an idea of pricing. http://trewaudio.com/store/home.php?cat=66

But, regardless of where you start, please make sure you buy state of the art equipment. I've seen too many student projects where they are using school equipment and running on DATs, with ME66's and told that they should use a shotgun for interiors and exteriors, no wind protection for exteriors (other than the foam mic cover, which is worthless), etc. And, don't forget cables, headphones, etc. Ideally, you will go with a double-system setup, so they can learn the most advanced techniques - rather than get lazy and sloppy thinking that the best way to go is into the camera because then they don't have to sync audio in post.
