Audio output lost in viewer after 'fit to fill' edit.

Hello All,

(First post, been browsing for months, so thankyou to contributors, have been helped out imensely on many occasions when stuck with various editing issues)

Having completed a fit to fill edit for the audio tracks onto the video (drift problem between seperate clips) in a sequence, I now find that when i place the sequence into the viewer (ready to make a subclip), I lose the audio output. In the viewer the audio tabs are present as is the waveform, but no output is present. Opening the Audio Mixer inside the Tool Bench I notice that the two tracks without output have the value, 'inf' in the level indicator below the meters. Clicking back to sequence the output is present. Have checked the Audio Playback and External Video settings which are fine. Any ideas?

Just to key you in further, as mentioned the video and audio are from seperate clips. 1 Video track (plus 2 Audio tracks from Video Camera), and a further 2 audio tracks (the master audio, imported via a canopus AtoD converter), so total is 1 Video, 4 Audio. Had clocking/drift issues between the two sources hence the fit to fill situation.

I have tried sequences containing all 4 audio tracks, and just the 2 master audio tracks, but upon droping them into the viewer, the symptoms exist in both cases.

Mac OSX 10.4
2GhZ PowerPC 1GB Ram
Final Cut Pro HD 4.5

Hope you can help.

Kind Regards,

Paul.
