Audio only in the right channel.

I just bought the Rode NGT-1 mic, and now I'm having some kind of a problem. When I try to monitor the audio with my Sony mdr-cd550 headphones I hear audio only from the right channel. I know that the mic is mono, but I thought that I was supposed to hear audio from both channels. So is there some kind of a setup for this problem in the camera?

And of course I'm using dvx100b :D

If you are recording onto just channel one then you will only hear sound on the right headphone. Send the mono signal to both channels (mind as well stagger the db while your at it) and you will hear it on both sides.

Cheers

What wabbit said!

Plug the mic into input 2, then open LCD, and select CH1 Select: as Input 2, and Ch2 Select: as Input 2; that will feed your mono mic to both the left and right channel. Further, as wabbit mentioned, use two different audio levels, just slightly different of each other. that way you have a choice of which one to use in post production: was the louder one TOO loud (and clipped): use the more quieter one; or, otherwise choose the louder one.
