Audio needs fixing

I shot part of a short using the XL2's auto control of the front mic i know not optimal but i thought it would be alright considering teh room was sound proof and everyone was really close to the mic. for some reason teh audio is extremely quite and i have to bump it up 15db to have it sound alright, is this really bad? also there is a sort of echo in the room that i didnt hear while shooting whats a good filter to dampen it?

I just used Soundsoap on a project and was impressed, especially for the money. Shot in a room with AC that could not be controlled, and it cleaned right up.

I'll try to see if that software (is that a software or plug-in?) will help. If anyone can take a look at some audio i exported to see what effects would yeild the best results that would be amazing. The file is a little under 2MB and its the original audio, i didnt use any gain. So if anyone comes up with anything half decent please post settings. thanx
