Audio Monitors recomendation

I would like to get some recomendations about buying audio monitors for editing, preferably self powered speakers.

Currently I'm using some Kenwood speakers, they re great but pretty old and kind of destroyed by the use.

Budget limit is $400

Where is this KRK brand from? I never heard of it.
In my country they cost $250 each speaker

Those JBL looks great, i have some JBL big 15" speakers and they sound awesome.

Those look good... Do they get pretty loud without distortion?

I don't monitor or mix in environments that are too loud but I have found that they will get loud before I hear any signal degradation or distortion.

I find that while most M-Audio gear is inexpensive it has relatively poor build quality and they don't sound true to the sound. I personally would mix on a pair of 7506s over a pair of m-audio monitors that are less than $400. But that is just my opinion, it is best if you can possible try out the monitors in a suitable acoustic environment with audio or music that you know extremely well.
