Audio levels for DVD...

Hi.

Making DVDs is pretty new thing to me so...What is the right audio level for DVD? I mean what is too loud? How loud I can make my DVDs audio before it distorts if I use normalizing at the final "mastering" stage? Is there some difference between CD and DVD audio levels?

I am mixing at the moment our football game with commentator dialog track. What would be the right level for the commentator track? Is there some level that it should not exceed?

Thanks!

Digital audio will always clip at 0dB. Keep your peaks below 0. Leave a little headroom for different interpolation algorithms on the players. So, if you normalize to -3 to -1.5 dB, you'll be in good shape.
