Audio Interface and Camera

Sorry if this is a bit of a noob question, I have recently purchased a Canon XH-A1, I also have purchased this audio interface Focusrite Saffire ( http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/379066-REG/Focusrite_SAFFIRE_Saffire_Audio_Interface.html )

I bought the audio interface for recording some sound/voice files not to compliment my camera BUT I was wondering if I could use it to enhance the sound of my productions. I don't know much about audio but I was thinking of connecting the camera and audio interface all up to my computer for the production?

Is there anyway I can use this audio interface with my camera?

The interface is not for "enhancing" but translating analog to digital and digital to analog. If you want to enhance the audio, you need a good DAW (Digital Audio Workstation), commonly known as doing "Post Production".

But to answer your last question, yes, it will work with your camera, but you will be using your audio outs on the camera which means there will be resampling involved (digital>analog>digital), which can/will degrade your audio.

Keep it purely digital throughout the ingestion process. Then enhance the audio.
 
I was thinking of recording the voice thru the audio interface then into the computer and just bypassing the camera altogether , then later trying to sync the footage and the voice files together

That'll work, though sometimes a hassle on location. Record in the computer at 48 kHz. Remember to slate each take.
 
Your talking voice-over and ADR. Yeah, it'll work. The vocals will sound better only because you are reducing the number of components in the signal chain. Use a good quality mike for the vocals, add to that your Saffire, it should sound pretty good.

Be cognizant of the space you are recording in as well.
