I am running an S-video cable w/ RCA audio cables (same line) to my monitor, where I convert the RCA audio cables to 1/4" audio jacks and run them into a Rolls amp. Before I converted the RCA cables to 1/4" I would get right side audio only. Then I was told to try converting the RCA jacks to 1/4" jacks, and it solved the problem. That was a month ago. Just this weekend the problem came back with no apparent reason. When I plug in my 1/4" headphone jack 1/3rd of the way into the rolls headphone amp I hear audio on the left headphone, 2/3rd of the way still audio on the left headphone, then when I plug it in all the way I get right side audio only. Any clue what the problem may be?

Thanks

I may be confused by what you are trying to do. Voices are mono and will be recorded as so. But you can plug a lavolier or wired mic into the second channel xlr and set both switches on the side of the camera and sound will be recorded to both channels. Otherwise it will always be one. this may not be what you are trying to do though.....

you mast bought one cheap 1/4 plug or your rolls input is bad inside what make not good connection of the rca to tip ( left) , so when you plug it half way it touch the ring ( right ) inside the jack hole and the the ground still ok so you get left signal is going to the right .
spit on the connector and plug it in if something change its good if not examen the jack it might have cracked tip , if not examen the rolls input .

I am running the audio on the 2nd channel (DVX100A), using an Oktava mic. I've always been able to hear the same audio in both sides of the headphone, until I tried to supply audio to a rolls headphone amp (where I could have multiple people listen to the audio at the field monitor). I hear the audio on both sides of the headphones when I plug the 3.5 headphone jack in the back of the camera. The problem only exists when I try to run audio to an amp. My field monitor doesn't have headphone jacks for audio out, so I have to run the audio from the camera to the amp....

Thank you

I have Sony 7506 headphones (4 pairs). I tried all 4 and had the same problem. The rolls is only a month old, with very limited use. Would it go bad that fast? I am hoping it is the converter used to change the RCA jacks/plugs to 1/4". It is a good quality converter/splitter and I have only had it for a month as well, but I hope that is it. It isn't the RCA cables, I checked 3 different pairs and they all had the same results.

I'll try your suggestions.

Thank you

One Month , 1 Year , Does It Matter? - Electronic Gear , Especially If It Use Cheap Components Like Rolls ( Otherwise It Cant Exist) Can Go Bad , The Mechanical Problems Usually Are N-1 Enemy In The Gear Like That. But Check First Your Adaptor , The Tip Might Be Not Connected , Very Easy To Check With Voltmeter ( Resistance)
