Audio in FCP?

Is it possible to do basic audio touch ups in FCP? I am most interested in removing the background hissing noise that is recorded along with the dialogue. How can I remove this noise so that the dialogue is left perfectly clear and audible? Any help would be much appreciated. Tutorials or recommended programs for doing such things would be very great. Love the community :) thanks everyone!:dankk2: in advance of course

Have you tried Soundtrack Pro? If you can sample the noise at a spot in the clip where there is nothing else, you should be able to greatly reduce it.

I am very very new to the film and sound game. When you say "sample" does this mean if I isolate a clip of audio that consists purely of the "hissing" that I would like to remove I can edit it from there? Perhaps just turn it down a bit without turning down the characters voice? How would I use that program to do this? Sorry to ask so many questions. A link to some sort of tutorial using this software to do this would probably clear things up. I just dont really have any experience. can someone explain?
