Audio Help

I have a scene that was shot using the on board microphone on the dvx and i was wondering if it is possible to clean it up and attempt to make it match the rest of the film. The audio is loud and clear, but it sounds like it is in an auditorium. Can I fix it? Thanks.

Probably not. There are some recipes I've made "do" with, but overall....bad audio can't be made good, only better that it was, but won't ever match good audio.
1. Split the audio track into separate tracks. For the next steps, we'll be working with just one track. (Mono file)
2. Normalize.
3. EQ to kill any unwanted frequency bumps. Maybe add boost around 100Hz and drop it where the room "resonates.
4. Use a fairly heavy compression.
5. Render/freeze track.
6. On rendered/frozen track, recompress again, using lighter compression.
7. Invert phase of track.
8. Listen to the two tracks combined. Now it will sound fairly bad. It should, anyway.
9. Reduce the gain on the inverted track, blending it with the non-inverted, original track. You should notice a significant clean-up of audio. You'll quickly find where it sounds best.
