Audio help: wireless mic for a wedding next week

I was recently hired on to film a wedding ceremony next week and am going very bare on it. They only wanted the ceremony filmed and from the weddings I've done before, I was always hired on with most material already there. For this one, I need a wireless mic but haven't been able to get ahold of my previous partner to know what kind he used on the others. I'm using a dvx and if I'm not mistaken, the receiver plugged into an input with an xlr cable and the mic was put on the Minister and got it back before he left. If anyone knows of a good wireless mic that would work for an occasion like this, it'd be very helpful

Basic decent wireless = Sennheiser G2 or G3. Try and improve the mic from the me2 if possible. This is a concensus answer commonly given here. I own a couple of G2s and they work fine. Read the stickies and you will learn much.

Sennheiser G3 (or 2000 series if you have the money).

Change the mic for the MKE 2 if you can as it's very much better than the ME 2 that comes with the 100 and 300 series (I think the MKE 2 comes as standard with the500 series).

Look at the ew 100 ENG G3 (best value) or the ew 112-p G3.

The next up from this with a pocket/camera receiver is the 2000 series - but this has a much wider switching window.

If you are in the UK I would advise getting a version "GB" and get a Channel 38 licence. This is the new pro. frequency for country-wide use.

If you get a version "E" you will only be able to use the four 863-865MHz licence-free frequencies which every man and his dog uses - not good for a pro.
