Audio Gain - How to Boost Audio

Hey,

I never do audio work, I'm not an engineer or a very good editor. But I'm editing something for someone.

How do I boost the audio? I turned the level up to +12 but its still too low. Can I make the volumne any higher in FCP? Or do I have to bring it into Soundtrack or something.

I'm an audio noob.

THanks.

Matt

You could try to add a compressor/limiter plugin, but easiest is probably the soundtrack route (with some compressor/limiter/eq plugs)

Find a friend who knows about this, because it's easy to distort the audio.
Then you'll know the next time.

There osn't really a: Do exactly this" answer to your question, so you'll either have to play around with these tools, or find a friend...

you can try to double your audio track if you really dont know what else to do.... select your audio track and then old alt and shift and drag your audio right under and it will copy it.

I played with one of the EQ's and it worked out great. It didn't distort the audio like I was worried about. It worked a lot better than having multiple layers of the same audio and increasing the gain.

The EQ that I used had like 20 different levels to adjust.

Goodluck.
