Audio from FCE transferred to Soundtrack ?

Hey guys,

This might be the wrong place to ask this, but can anyone tell me how to transfer audio clips from a project in Final Cut Express to Soundtrack for adjustments then back to FCE ? I have a couple of clips from interviews that have some background noise, the hum of some sort of appliance or heating unit in one clip and a slight echo in another, that I'd like to try and remove in Soundtrack. I can't find any info in the users manuals or in my Apple Pro Training books that give me directions for doing this. I've tried to just choose/highlight the clip and then go to "file" and then "send to" like would be done in FCP but my only option is grayed out. Tried "file" then "export for soundtrack" but that doesn't work either. I really don't have a clue as to how to get the audio clips into Soundtrack. Any help, advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Steve

Odd that it's grayed out.

be sure to select the audio clip from your timeline first, then right click, send to soundtrack pro...

If that fails, just export your edited audio. Then open ST and import it.

Hey Mike,

Thanks for the reply... Maybe I'm not doing this right... I'm on a Mac so no right clicking, I've double clicked the audio clip in my time line and when I do that it opens the audio graph in the viewer and changes the color of the audio clip in the time line from green to purple but when I go to "file" then to "send to" all I see is a gray "motion project".... That's it, no other choices.. I'm learning FCE from my FCE Apple Pro Training book but of course there's nothing in the book about Soundtrack and nothing in the Soundtrack manual about this that I can find... Is there something I've not done in the time line ? I've saved the project and worked on the timeline over a period of several days saving the changes each time I work on it. Sorry I'm so confused and not more knowledgeable of FCE and Soundtrack... Learning as I go. 8^)

Thanks,

Steve
