Audio for a cooking show

What kind of audio setup is more usual for a cooking show. Is a lavalier with wireless common? Or a boom and shotgun?

Thanks

Pierre

From what I saw on TV it is all lavs on cooking show. Just because cutting on a wooden board or any frying will become very loud for the boom mic . That is my 1 cent

done a few - you want a wireless lav. drop the sensitivity to reduce background from LOUD ASS kitchens. run a boom to get nice chopping cutting boiling sounds.

not adding anything new here, just confirmin.

lavs. aside from lighting issues and boom shadow across everything, there are the vents/ fans that need to be on. you will hear them in the lavs. no getting around them. as timapter said, boom the sounds when you do a second pass of tight shots. i will say the lavs get a lot of the sounds. im never thrilled to put a boom over a pan of sizzling oil, but the lav on the talent picks it up nicely
