Audio Fix in Premiere?

I hold very little hope that this can be fixed, but I'll ask anyway. I shot a Miss Alabama Prelim. pageant this past weekend. Everything is ok, except one part where the winner from last year is singing. She kinda pegged out too much early on, and then I adjusted it as i shot. Well, of course that part is now distorted and won't go away. Is there a remedy on this or After Effects that may correct it? Or at least lessen the nastiness? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

If you have access to Adobe Audition it has filters to normalize audio and flatten audio that has overpeaked. You can select to apply filitering to the whole audio clip or only a defined section. You dont have this level of control in Premier.:(

yes! SCANNON is correct. I use audition for such things, and I have great success with stage and worhsip audio.
