Audio Filter handbook/tutorial?

I have unsuccessfully been searching for a link that explains what each of the Audio Filters do. I'm also looking for a link that explains how to achieve different effects. An example effect would be creating a phone voice. Of course I found how to do this, but am really looking for a link(s) of how to do different effects that I haven't even thought of.

Just trying to expand my knowledge of FCP and would appreciate any help. Thanks.

The manual has a lengthy discussion on each filter.

I'd expand yourself there first.

for extensive audio work, most people are probably using Logic, ProTools or STP
