Audio falling out of Sync

Well, I recorded an event, bad camera audio, Luckily my trusty laptop had been recording all day, although, when I try to relay the audio, it is falling out of sync. I had Audio recorded with Sound studio at 44k on an iMac The audio on my edius is at 48, would that make a difference to the running speed of the audio track?

I had some mp3 playing back irregularily.
Make the audio to 48k WAV files and see if that helps.
