Audio editing question... kinda...

Is there an easy way to get my audiobooks which are sometimes hundreds of tracks, into ONE track for my ipod?

I wish i could just import all the tracks into a program and export them as one track. But everyone I've tried you have to copy and past each track together... ugh...

Any ideas?

I presume you mean you have the audiobooks on CD, hence the multiple tracks? There are numerous XP apps which will do this. One of which is called MediaJoin, which will batch merge any number of mp3 files, which you get by ripping the CD. You can also set the bitrate (I do 32kbps for audio to save space). Hope this helps.

I'm not quite sure I understand your problem. You can use any audio/post production program for this task. Simply import all the desired tracks into the program, select all, export audio mixdown to the desired mode. i.e. Stereo, 5.1, 6.1 7.1 surround etc. I use Steinberg's Nuendo but there are others that are less expensive and do the same thing.

Good luck.

i've tried audacity and Soundtrack pro and neither do what you've described, you import all the tracks, but they're all on separate timelines and need to be stitched together by hand :(

you could do it in vegas. select all the files, drag em into the timeline (they'll appear in the order that they were arranged in explorer), render out as an mp3.
