Audio Delay in PP CS3

So when I capture footage I keep getting an audio delay of a few seconds. There is no lagging or any other problem, just a delay. Could this be related to the preroll which I have set at 2? I'm not quite sure and any clarification would be awesome!
 
What do you mean by delay? Is the audio actually out of sync on the capture footage or is the captured footage lagging compared to what's showing on the camera's LCD? If it's the second case it's perfectly normal. If it's the first case and it's HDV footage then that's a known bug within Premiere.
 
It is out of sync by a few seconds with the footage. I'm familiar with the lag on the LCD but this isn't the case. It's also not HDV footage, it's being captured with a DVX...
