Audio delay in DVX100a

I recently purchased a DVX100A from Abel Cine. I was using it on a corporate shoot and unlike the DVX100, I noticed that when you listen to the audio through headphones, there seems to be a slight (no longer than 1 second) delay with slight reverb. I tried switching mikes, headphones, changing batteries, location, etc. The footage we played back seemed fine and the audio with it seemed fine with no delay. But everytime I go to shoot something else the delay can still be heard through the headphones on the camera. I contacted Abel's tech department, and they told me that this was quite "normal" and that it is actually an improvement from the last model. I was just wondering if anybody could confirm this and/or offer advice on how I can correct this in any way. For somebody who has actively used a Betacam SP and Betacam SX camcorder, this is a strange departure from hearing non-delayed sound. Please advise. Thank you.

Confirmed. Search the forums and you'll find much discussion about it. The original model had a 2-frame audio-preceding-video sync alignment issue, the new model fixes it by delaying the audio 2 frames before writing it to tape, but of course you'll hear live audio and 2-frame-delayed audio when you're recording so it sounds like an echo. But on playback it's fine.

You make me :-)
and since you have short memory , the beta sp (the 200-600) have confidence monitoring for it first and the second channels with much worse delay

the dvx audio circuit flow is running threw the analog to digital and back to analog in E to E mode .
the headphones output and the rca outs are coming with the same delay , the only way to work normally is to use better isolation headphones to prevent the reverb which been accuse by penetrating sound
