audio crackling and distoring after export.

So i have a song which was ripped from a cd...it was a cda extension and imported it into premiere. The original rip was 44.1khz so i converted it to 48khz and dropped it onto the 24p timeline. The playback in the timeline is perfect however when I export it the song plays back all crackled and distorted. i've tried to export it alone as a wav file, as well as with the video in various formats but it continues to distort the file. Anyway to fix this?

I'd try ripping the track to mp3 first (there are a thousand mp3 rippers out there, including itunes).

You don't need to convert anything with premiere. Just drop it onto your timeline and you're done.

-drag the mp3 to your project
-then drag it to the sequence.

Does it work?

k cool, i'll give it a shot as soon as i get back to editing....very odd the 41khz rip converted to 48khz if good in prem, but f'd on the export. but then again trouble shooting is the name of the game in filmmaking.
