Audio Channels, Scrolling Text, Letterbox, MPEG-2

Please humor me while I get out a few FCP questions that built up on a recent project...

FYI: I have been using 23.98 FPS Video, 48K Audio, on a G5 with FCP 4.5.

(3) Widescreen Matte
When putting the Widescreen Matte onto a frame that has been expanded, shrank, or, moved with the Wireframe, the Matte cuts off the top & bottom of THE ORIGINAL frame and not the one that I actually want to view in The Canvas. I ended up Cropping the Top/Bottom manually with another Matted frame as a guide. Is there a more automated way to do this, or did I do guess 'right'?

(4) Burning Widescreen Matte
When creating an MPEG-2 file, then burning it to DVD, is there anything special that I have to do after changing a 4:3 movie to letterbox?

(5) MPEG-2 & Compressor
Is there a big difference creating an MPEG-2 file by exporting it with Quicktime Conversion in FCP, instead of using Compressor?

(1) Left & Right Audio Channels
Is there a way to change the channel of an audio track, from Left to Right?

In the past, I have recorded my audio onto only the L or R channel, usually captured in Stereo. I have tried to Copy & Paste the one good channel (A1) to another channel (A2) trying to add it onto both the L & R channels. It didn't work.

If I want the audio on both channels, what can I do??? Please help, I am totally perplexed on this one, and it has bit me more than once.

(2) Scrolling Text
I used the Scrolling Text feature in FCP to display several names and crew positions for a school project. It display's the text a little 'shaky'. I tried using Live Type to do it (I am new to LT), but couldn't figure out how to do Scrolling Text. Any suggestions?

use PAN to select output in viewer
2. shaking titles sometimes depends on a font style
do no use to make scrolling text live type, its so easy in fcp
or try to use rolling credits 1.1

compressor offers me only to make m2v....

Yes. On mine, FCP 4.5, I click on "Format" in the QTC pop-up window and choose MPEG-2, Still Image, etc.

on your scrolling text. click open the clip and you can use the motion blur in your motion menu to clear that up. just turn it on and play with the settings. it doesn't take much.
