Hi, I'm doing a small indoor gig tomorrow, and have 2 cameras, only one of which has an xlr connection. I have an octava m012, and a cruddy audiotechnica at55 shotgun, and am unsure how to setup audio.

Can i setup the octava into a computer? Because I know you need phantom power. Should I boom the octava? I need the camera for moving shots, so would it be too much of a hassle? Should I just use the crappy shotgun? Thanks a lot.

First off, I'd not recomend the use of a shotgun indoors (unless it's a big room) period. Unless you're up to the NTG-3 or the MKH416, you're not gonna get good sound out of one. If you can go with a wireless lav or handheld setup, that'd be ideal.
-What kind of gig is it?
-What's your budget for audio?
-What's the size of the room?
-What are your audio assets? (including boom poles, etc..)
