I'm sincerely sorry if this has already been dealt with somewhere else, or if it's a super complicated topic which I presume has a simple answer, but:
I'm working on a short film and recorded audio from a boomed at897 to a fostex fr2le. When I listened to it the first time after importing, I remember it seemed to have been recorded pretty cleanly (though I don't completely remember). However, when I went back again after syncing it with pluraleyes and listened closely with headphones, I heard very clear audio artifacts in the background that sounded like the artifacts I used to get after eliminating hiss with a crappy third party noise filter. I'm confused about why I'm hearing that because the audio was simply imported into fcp, without any other filters or anything used. I understand that my location audio recording was in all likelihood imperfect in a number of ways, but wouldn't that lead to echo or too much roominess (which I'm not really getting) as opposed to digital artifacts? So if this is all an issue of my needing to EQ and post process and stuff later, then I'll cut my film the way I want and deal with this when the time comes, but as I still have some scenes to shoot, I'm wondering if there is anything I might be doing on the location audio part of this that could be contributing to the problem? Any help would be really appreciated, and again I'm sorry if I'm uninformed or oversimplifying this
