I just connected my camera to mac/final cut, i'm previewing/testing some of the audio and I can't hear the audio on the mac, but i can hear it on the camera. The audio thing on final cut is moving, but i can't hear anything.

under the view tab, refresh a/v device might work. If not, try looking in the audio playback. You'll want the Firewire DV checked if you are sending it to a monitor. If you are just using your computer speakers then you'll want built in audio checked.

Yes, I'm using the pc speakers, I just licked "Built in audio" won't do anything. It stays at Firewire DV...

You won't hear the audio through the speakers because the DV device is still connected. You'll have to capture your footage, then disconnect the camera. Or you can connect the camera to a monitor and then you will hear the audio through the monitor.

Have you already captured the footage to your computer, or are you just previewing what's on the camera? I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure you can't use built-in audio if it's not captured.

Don't know if this is how you got it to work, or if you're trying to view your footage in capture mode, but you have to check the "preview" box for audio in the second capture tab (sorry, I'm at work and don't it in front of me). Your audio will capture regardless, but you have to do this in order to hear it while capturing or previewing. This has to be done each time, which is annoying - seems like this should be the default.
