DISCLAIMER: This is a light-hearted post intended to be humorous, not insulting, so please don't get your back up about it.

In light of FILM being ousted for digital, and many people saying that FILM is obsolete, FILM would like to tell you the following things:

1) Do not call yourself a Filmmaker. The term filmmaker implies that you use film, hence the first four letters of the word. Pick a better term like TapeMaker,
VideoMaker, or perhaps plain old MovieMaker.

2) Please abstain from using the term "in the can" to refer to completing your movie. It is just plain obnoxious and silly to use this term when you record on tape. Perhaps "in the case", "on the drive", or "in the film festival's trash can" would be better terms.

3) Don't take ridiculous production stills of you "framing" your hands like the Directors of old. That's what your LCD viewfinder is for.

4) Don't even think about using a light meter with video...

5) I wonder what the new name for Film Festivals should be?
