when filming on my own, & mounting a mic to the camera, is it best to attatch my k-tek kssm mic shockmount to the dvx's mic holder, or can you fix it to the cameras light shoe? i thought it would be best to fix it to the dvx's mic holder but a friend said you can fix it to the light shoe. i'll need an adaptor which ever way, is there a cheaper option than k-teks k-bwj if i fix it to the cameras mic holder?
hope someone can help

The Rode SM3 works great and costs less than half the KSSM. It also has a built in hot shoe foot and boom pole adapter. Can go either way. Also gives great isolation. Probably a little better that the KSSM.
