Attaching manfrotto 503 head to 525mvb tripod

Could someone please tell me the proper way to attach the 503 head to 525mvb tripod? Or direct me to a manual?

You need a ball mount, like this that goes into the tripod head. I believe 525mvb is a 75mm bowl.

Yeah, I have one but want to make sure I'm attaching it appropriately. I attached it and it came loose from the head. I thought i might be doing something incorrectly. I guess I'm trying to find out the appropriate way to attach the ball mount to the head.
