Attaching a Mic to the Zhiyun Crane or Handheld Gimbal

Anyone using a successful method to attach a small shotgun (rode mic) to the Zhiyun Crane, or any handheld gimbal? I use it for skateboarding a lot and it won't balance with the mic on top, as it becomes too back heavy. Any thoughts?

Best to just get some handles, like these, and then attach the mic to them.
