Atomos Samurai Blade Footage Looks Washed Out

I shot footage simultaneously to a Samurai Blade at DNxHD 220X and my internal P2 card at AVC Intra 100, 30PN. I imported the files into PPro CS6 with an AVC Intra 100 menu setup. In a side by side image comparison, exact frame to exact frame, the Avid DNxHD 220X clip taken off of my Samurai looks less contrasty and more "milky" than the AVC Intra 100 clip taken off my P2 card. The best way to explain it would be that the master pedestal looked different between the two. The Samurai footage looked less contrastry and more milky and the P2 footage from the card looked, well, awesome. To match the clips, I had to adjust the contrast on the Samurai clip in my NLE. Why is that?

Thanks for your time!

Warmest Regards,
Hugh

Believe it or not, a lot of people actually want that 'milky' or 'flat' look from their camera. Supposed to be better for grading in post.

Are those QuickTime or MXF clips from the Blade?

Quick time from the blade. Oh, and I understand completely about wanting the low contrast look for grading in post. I guess I am just wondering if the DNxHD codec has been designed to do that intentionally? It even looks less contrasty than the Apple Prores coming out of the same recorder. Any thoughts?

If the Blade offers the option to use the MXF container for DNxHD, try using that instead of QuickTime. Report back the results.
