Atomos NinjA V+ Announced

Thanks, NorBro. Yeah it sort of looks like it will just record the framerate in a matching timebase (at least by default):

The lead editor at my biggest client is complaining about my H265 and long-gop h264 footage from a7siii/fx3. (I think he works on a 2009 trash can or something.) so I bought 2 80GB cfexpress type-a cards to have some capability to give him all-intra h264. If I buy more recording capacity, I would love to circumvent sony's extortion altogether whilst getting a cheaper solution to record edit-friendly 4k60p that also opens me up to prores raw possibilities. But he wants "plug and play," meaning 60p that's already in a 23.98 timebase...

Actually saw this guy record (re-record) his S&Q to the Ninja V so he can have ProRes while looking for that video above yesterday:

Kind of silly and totally unfeasible with hundreds of clips but I thought it was funny. Someone in the comments also brought up that it's probably not 10-bit.

I understand the processing power complaint, but why does he want it in a 24p base already? It's literally a click of a button in every major NLE including FCP's amazing "Automatic Speed" button.

Automatic Speed is awesome. Yes, god forbid he has to reinterpret all the footage to 23.98 (he's in Premiere). It would also be nice if they just upgraded his computer rather than making me buy new cards. He makes the point that they also send the footage out to various agencies and editors at times. I mean, it is a draw of the cameras that you can record the same (or similar) compression codec as the fs7/fx9 etc. I just think that cfexpress type-a cards are overpriced and a bad investment. And I can already do everything that I want with SD cards. I mean, V90 cards should be able to record 60/23.98 all-i h264 S&Q anyway, since it's only 600Mbps and they're rated at 720Mbps minimum sustained. TOTAL bs that the camera checks your cards and prohibits you from using them.

Anyone here using Ninja V+ with their R5? Need to know if it can be used in real world shooting without overheating in 8K and 4k ProRes HQ. Long scenes or Interviews?
