How is it as monitor, including outdoors in bright sunlight (with sun shade and mat screen protector) - both in itself and compared to SmallHD 501 or Marshall V-LCD56MDV?
Well, I can't compare to the SmallHD or Marshall listed, but I do own the Ninja blade and it seems to work pretty well outdoors with the sunshade.
I will add that my Atomos sunshade didn't line up very well with the mounting holes so once I got it screwed on I have just left it on, which means it won't fit in the Atomos case anymore. I've been happy with it and actually bought a 2nd one since several of my cameras have poor quality LCD screens and only 1 SD card slot
