atomos 4k shogun recorder for gh4, questions

So basically Im somewhat new to recorders ect but not really cameras ect. I own the GH4 and have started looking at the shogun and I really want to get one now, So im deciding ill start saving up for it soon. My question is , is this for
more professionals? What should I expect to get out of it besides the monitor / 10bit 4.2.2 ? kinda new jus want to know the basics really I guess, also what to expect. Do i need a battery for it ? Is it worth the $1995 its priced at ? If i wait longer will price drop? ect lol thanks for any advice.

Too be honest with you, from all the side by side videos I've seen (and downloaded) of the GH4/shogun, the GH4 produces great files (although 8bit) with many commentating they have a hard time breaking the GH4 4k footage, so apart from the monitor aspect, unless you massively grading your footage, $2000 could be spent elsewhere.

The real benefit for me is the lack of compression h264 artifacting - which looking at the Red channel of a GH4 file seems to be quite high compared to a similar file/scene off a Shogun.
