Hi i have a ATM41HE mic, does it need 48V phantom power ?
What is the purpose of this mic compare to a lavalier ? can we use one or the other for a same purpose?

As David stated, a hypercardioid dynamic vocal microphone. Not a good choice for a boom, if that's it's anticipated usage

The first question is no, but the second is?????

How does a lavaliere mic (smaller than the eraser on a wood pencil) compare to a handheld singers mic? You mean other than one is about 1,000 times the size and weight of the other? You could use them for the same things, but it would be a bit comedic. I can see the film now with the actor and his hidden ice cream cone handheld taped under his shirt... Or the rock singer trying to look tough while holding a lav between two fingers ;~)

But the more practical answer I think is for filming purposes no they can not be used in place of each other.

Well. i would like to use them also with a juicedlink plugged in a camcorder. Should i put the juicedlink on phantom power 48, 12 or none.
Thanks in advance

Oh, man! That is too funny. :)

Sorry, I don't really have anything worth adding...

For the hyper, since it's a dynamic mic that does not use phantom, phantom should be tuned off on the Juiced. For the lav, since you haven't said what mic you'll be using, there's no way to answer. Most lav mics use a 5volt source called 'plug-in power' that is wired totally differently from phantom - applying phantom to such a mic without using a special combined power supply / XLR adapter can easily damage it.

Dynamic mics do not require power... just plug into a microphone input and you're good to go. (so to speak)

I seem to remember back in the 1970's game show hosts (Gene Rayburn?) wore these funky necklace things like sideways mini mic stands that rested on their chests so the mic was in front of their mouths. They (the necklace mic stands) didn't last long.

I have a "Lav" from some time in the 60's that is about 1/2 as long as an Oktava and about the same diameter. It would hang from a thin black cord around your neck.

i used a juicedling providing 48v phantom power to my rode lavalier plugged in XLR. Is it ok ? Thats what they say in the manual of rode. It requires 48 v!
ANy comments on that?

If you use the Rode with a micon XLR connector on the cable 48 volt phantom would be okay - the connector contains circuitry to reduce the 48 volts down to the 5 volts the mic actually uses.

"Do you suggest sound device mixpre d instead of juicedlink? some say its better."
Does "you get what you pay for" mean anything?
Yes it's better, however it won't help an unskilled operator much, so VMMV.
