Hi guys, I have recently gotten a laptop for multimedia purposes (gaming, clerical work and editing)
These are the specs
i-720 1.6ghz (turbo mode 2.8ghz)
4GB DDR 3 RAM
500GB 7200 rpm
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5730
Windows 7 Home Premium x64
Adobe CS4
Whenever I edit on Premiere cs4 and use the tilde key to make one section of the window full screen (such as video) it lags horribly.
I got a similar effect on my ATI Radeon 3450 on my desktop and it stopped when I upgraded to a Geforce 250 GTS card.
I'm hoping this is not a trait of the ATI Radeon cards as this card in my system gets 9000 in 3dmark06 and therefore is a medium level high end card and thus it would be an absolute waste if I am unable to edit full screen on this system (I will be attaching an external monitor to this system) .
Is there anyone who uses an ATI card to edit on Premiere cs4 and if so what have you done to ensure full and proper quality playback?
