To use VEgas Pro9, After Effects, Magic Bullet etc??? Been offered either choice with my new quad core PC.

how many watts is your PSU?

the graphics card will be one of the most important things your using when your editing, i'd really recommend not cheaping out on it. Memory size wise is great, 1gb is perfect, but those are rather cheap cards. I edit raw AVCHD on my 9500GT (same card) and it lags a little until i upgraded and i have a 650watt PSU

for your i'd recommend a 9800GTX, perfect card for those and it holds tons of power, but you should also upgrade your psu if you haven't already.
