At what point are you a serial killer?

In the FBI handbook it is 3, but more importantly is that you follow your kill with a "cooling off" period.

I'm going to agree with three on the second and the third. Also I'm pretty sure you have to stick with a style... but that may be negotiable.

My oldest brother has a kid that seemed to enjoy taking his pent up issues out on bugs and he used to leave a blue m 'n m on top of each bug corpse.

Don't they have to be connected or something? I mean, beside being by the same person. Like in style...

I don't know why I think that. As I write this it seems so stupid now.

Although it makes it easier for you to get due credit for the murders, you don't have to stick w/ a style, although most of them do (modus operandi).

I found this "someone who murders more than three victims one at a time in a relatively short interval" on dictionary.com. So If someone kills 3 people in a 30 year period hes not a serial killer but just a nut case.

No, that's incorrect. I don't think time is a matter. Most serial killers don't stop unless they get caught, get dead or stumble into jail on non-related crimes. But, there have been many, many cases where they take a little break. Ed Kemper commited his first murders when he was like 13 (His own grandparents). Then he continued many years later.

do you have your penis tucked in between you legs while wearing night vision goggles telling a young women to put some lotion into a basket?

Hmm, depends on your point of view, I've gone 35 years without killing anyone at all, so 3 people in 30 years would still be a relatively short time, relative to me anyway.
