hey guys,
ive read lots of posts here regarding shotguns/supercardioid mics - indoor/outdoor. i narrowed down the different combos to an AT 875 shotgun mic and the tascam dr-40. ye i know i should not use shotguns indoor (more updates are planned during summer), but after listening to different tests (thanks Chad your vids been very helpfull) thats my current mic/recorder combo of choice. as you can see in the picture the model will be around where those 2 guys are sitting (pls ignore the crappy surrounding, will deal with this later) during the photo shoot. how close should i move the mic? think i will need a wider framing, so i wont be able to position the AT875 closer then 20 inch, possible even 40. could also hang the mic down the sealing. will that kill my sound or is it still manageable? its a BTS shooting so i want to stay in background, shoot with teles, so i dont disturb the shooting at all, if possible.
any ideas? or am i wrong with my combo and should chose different? oh btw also got good old rode video mic (non pro).
thanks for your help
