So I need a new laptop for video editing on location. After a ton of research it comes down to either the ASUS VivoBook Pro 15 N580GD-XB76T or the DELL G7 7588.

The ASUS is the better machine overall, but I am concerned about warranty issues. They are priced almost identical with the ASUS 3-Year accident warranty and the Dell 2-year accident warranty.

Does anyone have experience with ASUS laptops?

The Dell seem to only be 1920x1080 displays and the Asus seems to be UHD display. Asus is a good company and been in the computer business for a long time, they generally make pretty solid devices. About all I can say on the subject. I do have an Asus tablet and have used Asus main boards in desktops in the past, no real complaints but my exposure is a little light.

Do you have a budget? ASUS' new laptops with the intel core i9s are coming out at some point, might make sense to wait for those.

Thanks, I ended up getting the ASUS and I got it through B&H, so I got a 3 year warranty with it. So far I am very happy, it renders faster than my PC.
