I think this will suck. Sorry. But it just doesn't do the original justice. What is it with the "Cops are the bad guys"? Sorry but this isn't going to be a Dawn of the Dead '04. Just my humble opinion.

God, I hope this doesnt suck. All the current Movie/TV show "Re-imagining" trend is hit and miss, and from watching the trailer, it's a hard call. Laurence Fishburn as the precursor to Snake Plisken? "Misunderstood" minority gangs replaced by the "evil" white LAPD, who, in the trailer look more like the military? I dunno dude. Everyone watch the original FIRST!!

The original is great. It totally disturbed me when I first saw it. Applying horror movie motifs and tension in what's essentially an urban gang film was pure genius on Carpenter's part.

The original was fantastic. It features a scene you really couldn't do anymore:

"I wanted a twist." ;)
 
The original was great, but the remake was.......It was ok but not a patch on the original, If it was given a different title maybe I would be happier with it.
