Can someone tell me where the setting is on FCP to change the aspect ratio? I know I've seen it,,,I think?
 
Well if I had some footage that was letterboxed and some that was not....just trying to match it up.

It just seems like I've seen some place where you can add the effect anyway. Maybe it was in Magic Bullet?
 
There are a couple other recent threads here about mixing footage with different aspect ratios. Is that what you're after?
 
Do you want your final product to be native 16x9, 4x3 letterboxed, 4x3 full frame, or 4x3 FHA (Full Height Anamorphic)?

You change the aspect ratio of the sequence in the "sequence settings" menu item. You can change the aspect ratio of a clip by using the "distort" option in the Motion tab.
 
If you just want to add black bars to your full frame footage, just go to Filters --> Matte --> Widescreen.
 
You can try selecting the clip you want to change, go into the Viewer window, under the Motion tab click the drop arrow beside Distort. There is an option for aspect ratio in there. If you have video that was rendered out in the wrong ratio or something it will sometimes be stretched or squished, setting the aspect ratio in that menu to -33.33, 0, or 33.33 should make it nice and normal. Hope that's what you were looking for.
