Aspect ratio problems with Compressor

Hi Guys,

Every time I export a 16:9 sequence from FCP to Compressor it ends up being rendered in 4:3. I'm trying to render and MPEG1 and it always ends up 4:3. I'm sure it's not Compressor's problem, just that I'm new to it. Can anybody help?

Well you didn't get too detailed in your workflow description there, so the obvious question has to be, are you using the 16x9 settings in Compressor? Are you going into Inspector all the settings and making sure they are all saying 16x9, and there's not a re-size/scaling option on somewhere? Cause to me that would be the quickest way to end up at 4x3 unexpectedly.

If that's not the case though, can you go into further detail about your exact setup in FCP (what did you shoot with, what are you sequence settings) and in Compressor (what version, what option are you applying to your footage once in Compressor, etc.). That would help us a lot more in troubleshooting for you.
