Aspect Ratio problems....any ideas?

Hi there,

I've shot some 16:9 footage and would like it to be letterboxed on a 4:3 TV. What I have been doing is creating a 4:3 project and importing the 16:9 footage into that. Vegas automatically letterboxes it for you.

The problem I am having is when Vegas letterboxes it, it affects the quality of the video, you can see the interlace lines very harshly and they are especially predominant when the camera moves.

Anybody have any ideas? The footage is true 16:9 from an XL2.

Paul.

The interlacing isn't visible until it starts rendering it frame by frame, you can also see it in the exported file and after I convert it to mpeg and burn it to DVD.
