Aspect Ratio Issues

I'm not super well-versed in either the camera DVX100B or my Final Cut Express so bear with me.

I shot my scenes in the f5 Scene file and I shot them in letterbox.

When I capture them, the control window comes up and it seems to me to be in a 4:3 ratio, but when I click capture now and the other window pops up, that seems to be in a 16:9 ratio.

When I look at my clips in the viewer, the viewer is 4:3 shaped. My clips have a small sized letter box and seem slightly stretched up and down.

I downloaded a single frame into photo shop and it came out in 16:9 shape. So it that proved to me that my film is being squeezed from 16:9 with letterbox into a 4:3 box.

I don't know how its doing this. Is there a setting I can change. Is there a way to fix it without re capturing?

I tried the Aspect Ratio function on the motion tab and it did fix it, however it put a bunch of weird ripples into it.

Thanks,

-Tom
