Asking someone to read script/ and possibly exec produce etiquette?

Once I'm done with my microbudget feature script, I plan on hopefully showing the script to a few contacts in the business and possibly attaching one or two as an executive producer to help the project's legitimacy and festival hopes (yes the quality of a film is at the upmost but it can't hurt having one or two respected industry pro's attached as EP's and be cheerleaders of the work that could have programmers take a longer look/consideration of the film.)

My question is what would you recommend in regards to the etiquette of going about this? Just a simple, "Hey I finished a script I'm shooting within the next year, if you're interested I'd love for you to read it" , see what they say and if they say yes, then send the script and ask if they like it would they be interested in EP'ing it would suffice? And I do keep in touch every 3-4 months about other things so me reaching out to them wouldn't seem really out of the blue.

Thanks in advance. Any comments/experiences/ stories about this would be really helpful!
