ASC names 'Amelie' the best-shot film of 1998-2008

Amelie is beautiful - imagery I mean.

Chris Doyle ran in 12th and 24th. Id put In the mood for love in my top ten for that period. 12th isn't far off.

Amelie is a cute film, but is it good enough to be in the same category with the title likes Citizen Kane, Lawrance of Arabia, Conformist etc? Did u see their list from 1894-1997 covering some of the best films ever made.
Surprisingly ASC list covers lesser known films like The Fall, or Snow falling on Cedars . (And not surprisingly it is pretty much about American cinema.)
Most of the films in that list have many memorable moments; however I personally cant remember a single scene from Amelie that stuck in my mind...
Doyle is up there, I think it was him that said it took him about 10 movies to get what cinematography is about, and that it is not about adding but subtraction of light...
