ASA/ISO compared to miniDV DVX100A

I know there is an F-stop on the camera already. And it all depends on what the person behind the camera think looks good to shoot and at what exposure.

But if you were to compare say super 16 Kodak film and something shot on DVX100A. Both at 24 frames or 24p in the case of DVX100A, with 1/24 shutter speed. Both with F-stops at 2.8. What kind of filmstock is it close resembles too?

I heard you can do post production and use cinelook and after effects. But just tech question.

Damn. My Norwood Director only has a 650 ASA setting and a 1/50th shutter speed. Not 640 & 1/48th. :(

Most film cameras run at around 1/50 rather than 1/48 anyways - but it doesn't make any real visible difference

If you can control exposure to that level, make sure the editor doesn't touch your images with his Color Correctors... ;)

That is 1/10 of a stop. I don't know about anyone else, but for a dollar I couldn't tell.

See yea,

:D

And, looking more carefully at the dial, I see that I wouldn't have to use the 1/50th speed...the dial also has point settings for 24 fps and such. (And the 24 fps is a smidge down from the 1/50th, so it's probbaly 1/48th, anyway) )
