As a monitor: DP6 vs. Ninja 2?

Currently own a DP6 (HDMI), but considering replacing it with a more multi-use Ninja 2 instead of the more cumbersome DP6 + Hyperdeck route.

I know all the DP6's strengths, foibles, and failings, but don't have any experience with the Ninja 2. Probably the top thing I use on the DP6 (and don't know if there's a corollary) is 1:1 mapping on a hot button... other than that, I don't make frequent use of most of its features; I already know the colors will inevitably be slightly "off," and that the image is slightly posterized.

Eager to hear from anyone who has experience with both. Thanks.

Personally I wouldnt use a Ninja2 for focus.
its just nowhere near sharp enough.

If you want a recorder you might look at the Samurai Blade (you can alwaysusea converterto get hdmi input)

Alternatively, SmallHD's new monitor are absolutely gorgeous

It'll be a pretty big disappointment going from a DP6 to a Atomos Ninja 2 when it comes to screen quality. I use a DP4 and had to rent a Ninja 2 for a shoot, and after one look through both, I didn't use the Ninja 2 much more than a recorder deck. The settings in the Ninja also were pretty bare and didn't allow me to adjust the image quality to be suitable as a monitor. The contrast and colors were off compared to my camera evf and small HD. I think seeing an image from the Ninja 2 is more of an added benefit from the recorder deck so you can view playback, but I wouldn't trust its image until I see it on a computer. My two cents.
